Earthsong was created from the essence of nature in this idyllic island paradise. The surrounds are inspiring, the hospitality is exemplary the cuisine is divine, and the wine outstanding.
Stay at Earthsong and take a break from the clamour and bustle of the busy world we live in.
Earthsong's Ocean View Suites each have a private, sunny courtyard, as well as verandas boasting spectacular sea views. Separate from the main lodge, yet connected by a cobblestone path, each suite has an entrance lobby, adjoining en-suite bathroom, and large bedroom with a king-size bed. Suites can be reconfigured for share twin or single occupancy. French doors open onto private verandahs and sun-soaked courtyards, providing a quiet haven with panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf, pristine Tryphena beaches and the Earthsong olive grove. Thick adobe-style walls and hand-crafted furnishings create an elegant, timeless atmosphere of permanence. Fresh fruit, flowers and home-made cookies are provided daily in each suite, along with complimentary fine tawny port, and a selection of teas and coffees.
Great Barrier Island is all about the outdoors and there is an almost-limitless range of activities on offer. You can mountain bike, abseil, rock climb, snorkel, horse-ride, kayak, fish, dive, surf, sail, swim and trek.
Criss-crossing the island are dozens of walking tracks ranging from gentle meanders through lush meadows to challenging hikes along rugged trails. Mountain bikers have two designated riding trails, and the island's craggy coastline is ideal for exploring by kayak. The fishing is great, the diving is awesome. You can even rejuvenate with a soak in geothermal hot springs.
Rocky outcrops along the Great Barrier Island coastline house colonies of Gannets and other sea birds. From there they launch into the blue and fly in formation over crystal clear waters teeming with aquatic life. The ocean is home to dolphins, whales and tuna. Bird-watchers and fishing fanatics call it heaven.
